Urgent - EORI Update due to customs procedural changes

Dear Valued Customer,


EU Member State customs authorities have introduced a new procedure to ensure the RECEIVER EORI number is noted on invoices for shipments going to the European Union. The Eori number is for businesses only. Private individuals do not need to have this registration.


There is potential that shipments may be delayed from leaving the UK if the receiver company EORI Number is not provided and/or correct.

It is therefore critical now that you do provide this information for your non-document shipments.

The easiest way to do this is will be via the Mission Express online booking portal.


If you send to your own offices in Europe or have customers that you send to regularly, please request their EORI number in advance as having it to hand will save you time and potential shipment return charges!

Laptop AirSacs and carriage boxes

​We understand that you need to send lap tops to / from remote working colleagues and sometimes the correct packaging is not available.

To support the requirement Mission Express is pleased to introduce our new AirSac and Carriage Box specifically designed for Lap Tops with screen sizes up to 18” (and charger cable).

When purchased from us, we will inflate the AirSac and send to the collection address the day before we arrive for your standard next day delivery rate.

Best of all, both options are approved when the Mission shipping insurance is taken up.

UK - Tier 4 Operations

Dear Valued Customer,


In light of the new Tier 4 introduced to certain parts of the UK this weekend we would like to update you on our contingency planning.


  1. We have introduced a rotation system (weekly basis) to our warehouse and driver colleagues. We have created tighter “bubbles” so that we can continue to protect our staff and continue to operate at the high levels you expect.

  2. We may ask you to bring collections times earlier so that we do not have our drivers arriving to the Heathrow facility at the same time (staggered approach)

  3. Our networks are still operating at high levels however, we are expecting some disruption and have initiated our Business Continuity Plan for UK and Worldwide delivery.

  4. We encourage you to make use of our online portal for booking collections, raising paperwork and tracking consignments before calling us.


Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of the Mission Express team and we believe these measures secures that and again, allows us to operate at a high level.


We are also committed to you and we are very grateful for your continued support.


These are unprecedented times but for the work that we do for you, we are prepared and the dedication of the team here has proven this since the pandemic started back in March of this year.

Mobile Phone Insurance

The cost for loss or damage cover is £55.00 for up to £1,000 of value.

Cover is limited to one phone per consignment and is available for UK and most overseas destinations.

With many parts of the World in a form of lockdown and with home working increasing we wish to remind you of the importance of having accurate and up to date address information.

To avoid unnecessary and additional costs, please check the information and especially for residential addresses both in the UK and overseas.


Please try to provide the email address and mobile number when possible.

The recipient will then receive communication from Mission Express confirming that a package is on way to them!

Shipping Insurance


For peace of mind we always recommend taking out insurance to protect the value of your goods. Mission Express can insure your Express Courier and Freight shipments although there are some restrictions and limitations that may apply.

Our competitive prices are below:


International despatch premium: £35 minimum or the declared value for Customs and the carriage charges combined plus 10% and multiplied by 2%


UK domestic premium: £25 minimum or the declared value of the goods and the carriage charges combined plus 10% and multiplied by 0.9%

Please inform us by email or when you make your booking that you require insurance on any particular consignment and we will take care of it for you.

European Parcel Service (EPS) - 9th Oct 2020

Dear Valued Customer,


In order to keep the service levels and integrity of the EPS (European Parcels Service) please note that any parcels sent with any of the following conditions will incur a £35.00 surcharge as they will not be able to travel on the conveyor systems and will require manual handling.
